There are so many things that could be said in response. I could fill several volumes with responses. However, I will respond to your first point. Do you know, based on empirical evidence and proof, that there absolutely is no God? If so, please present that proof, which any rational person would, by sheer force of logic, be forced to accept. If you cannot convincingly prove the non-existence of God, it must be a belief. Somebody who is proclaiming a belief sounds like a person with a religion.

@briteness Did you know there's absolutely no proof that there's no flying spaghetti monster? So you are just going by belief that it doesn't exist? No one has shown any proof that there IS a FSM, so there's absolutely NO REASON to believe there is one, right? Same goes to a god. No proof that there is one, so why should I believe that there is? You can claim anything you want but the burden of proof lies on the person making the claim that something DOES exist.

I've been a fan of yours since about 2006-2007ish (I did a search for David Bowie years ago, whom I adore, and found your channel and loved it) and I have to say I had no idea you held these views! I've always been too shy to comment on your videos, but I couldn't pass up on this one. As an Atheist myself, this is very refreshing news to me and I couldn't be more thrilled to learn that you're a fellow freethinker. Thank you for sharing this with everyone, it's a great video.

2. There is a lot to my personality and views that I don't share on here. As much as I'd like to think I was comfortable being myself on here, it's not entirely true. I have to tell you, you are one of the few people out there that I know of, that consider themselves 'not' angry with God. Most of the Atheists I know personally are people that say to me, straight out, your God is too cruel, I won't believe in Him, he makes me ANGRY! This is from a Catholics point of view mind you, but I mostly hear the same spiel every time, followed by I am an idiot for believing in anything and that I should give up on life. It's pretty ridiculous

@briteness ; Just by reading your first sentence is enough to reveal how wrong you are. Science doesn't attempt to prove a negative. The nonexistence of something. If you claim to be an agnostic you might as well include you are an atheist also. Agnostics think they can dodge the question on the god question by simply stating "I don't know" it's a cop out. Just how does an agnostic define truth? Therefore, either God exists or he does not exist.

@nogogma There is no scientific proof of the non-existence of god. Nothing in our experience has anything to say about whether or not there is a god. There are things that could be used as evidence that if there is a god, he/she/it is either indifferent or in fact hostile to us. But that does not really touch the question of whether or not god exists. I am an agnostic. I do not know the answer to that question. Anybody who says they do know, including atheists, is expressing a faith.

@madeinquebec The question of whether or not there is a god is not provable, at least not in a way that is scientifically verifiable. I made no call for anybody to start believing in anything, so to claim that my argument is stupid based on that is not valid. The issue cannot be proven by either side. For either side to declare that their view, whether it is for or against the existence of god, is the only correct one, is to hold a belief. Also, name-calling is not an argument.

The biggest misconception about atheism is that it doesn't really exist. Everyone knows Who God is. There are just those who deny Him.

Hi Melody, haven't seen you a long time. If the definition of "religion" means belief in God, then what about Buddhism? That has no God. The term re-ligion means that which ties people back together. As many atheists have a community and a culture and behave as believers do, and also since they don't KNOW they are right, they just, like us, base on certain beliefs that they are right - in atheists' case the implicit belief is that empirical proof should be sufficient - I think it is a religion.
