Artist Interview Series With Jolene Sugarbaker

PLEASE NOTE! This episode was filmed by an innocent bystander! The camera moves, pans, turns on its side, shakes, etc :) So take a pill or have a drink and pretend the filming style is artistic too :)

Hey Trailer Park Fans!!

I like to call this new show:
Jolene Goes Artsy

I just recently enjoyed two screenings of all my cooking shows at a great event called Artomatic.

This year, it was held in Crystal City, Virginia.

Over 600 artists also participate on two huge floors of a converted office building.

I decided to interview some of the artists that caught my eye....

It's a little different from my Cooking Shows and some of my other work, but I'm sure some of you Artsy Fartsy people will love it!

In this episode, I interview Mexican Artist Gloria Valdes Tarasca who shows us her artwork that she has on display.

For more information on her artwork, search for her name on the Artomatic website at http://www.artomatic.org or visit her great website at http://www.gloriatarasca.net

Please be sure to rate and comment!
While i'll be answering all comments posted here, the artists would really enjoy your comments! Some of them haven't had this kind of exposure before!

Lots Of Love

  • I see those spots she talks about too- caused by bright lights and the sun. Neat that she incorporates it into her work.

  • Yep, I think they call them Floaters! I know I'll be floating in the pool this year as much as I've ate! Love You! Jolene Sugarbaker The Trailer Park Queen

  • Wow this became very political. You are a very gracious interviewer. You didn't even flinch when she started to interview you! And the cameraperson did a pretty good job- it would have been boring if it was just two talking heads.

  • neohillbilly! Yes, I really did like the camera work after all :) It's artsy in itself :) Gloria had a lot of issues that came out during the interview, it was very exciting to hear her point of view! (answering email soon) Love You! Jolene Sugarbaker The Trailer Park Queen

  • @neohillbilly It has to do with how your eyes adjust from very dark to very light places and back again, and there are particle in the fluid inside your eyes that float around and you can see that fiery light shows entirely your own, especially when you close your eyes. I also think her self taught style expressing her view of the world is really awesome.

  • Wow Jolene, you do it all....this is great! You are such a cultural icon. OOOh and the Carlos Santana painting is awesome! He is one of my other fave people besides you.
