I was just rewatching this for funsies after watching the Splatterhouse 2010 review and I think it's pretty poetic that in this video he had just gotten his skull with candles, whereas in the Splatterhouse 2010 review it's all waxed over with no candles really left. ^_^

that skull has been in everyone of my halloween videos. as a tribute to halloween i placed the skull on the side table, but since it wasn't a proper halloween review I didn't have candles. it'll be back next year with fresh candles!

You might not know this, but a japanese version of Splatterhouse 3 is way different than an american version. It looks the same, but in the japanese version the game mechanics ARE balanced - and there is no option to play cheap, since that spin-kick has a completely different effect and your attacks VS monster's health are perfectly tuned. Plus, the timer is longer - which allows you to explore.

Try it, that version of the game has a totally different feeling, and is 100 times more fun!

I agree that the second one was the best. I passed on the 3rd one at the time when it came out because I didn't like that it was turned into a final fight type of brawler. I am shocked that it fetches so much on ebay these days.

well, the new splatter house has all 3 of the retro games in it. it kinda makes up for the awfull 3d one you had to pay full whack for.

Too bad their "remake" wasn't worth getting. I loved the originals because they were creepy, gave me nightmares, and I would wake up to the music in my head, even 10 years after not having played it.
