Leopard kills Warthog at Sabi Sands. This was truly an amazing experience during one of our game drives at Sabi, and really a bit different from the versions shown on Animal Planet or Discovery Channel...

What's going on is that essentially the warthog is being eaten alive. An experienced predator like this leopard will avoid grabbing the warthog in the neck area for fear of being mauled by the warthog's lethal tusks. Notice how it remains just out of reach of the tusks.So instead of suffocating the warthog the way larger, heavier predators do, the leopard eats the warthog alive at the chest area, the warthog finally dies when it rips out the heart.
