This is a tutorial on how to improvise a nice diorama using paper mache. If you don't have plaster or hydrocal you can still make a nice little diorama with some cardboard, flour and water. I show you how to build it and how to improvise terrain. The diorama I make in this tutorial is a small Helms Deep from lord of the rings.

This project also has a web based tutorial with pictures and step by step instructions on my website at:

  • I was wondering, what do you do with all of your projects that are older? Do you save them, break them and harvest them for materials, sell them? I was wondering, because you make a LOT of different dioramas.

  • @GreenAiden555 sometimes keep, sometimes give them away, or take them apart. I have a wall rack full of them too.

  • Would it make a difference if I used glue and water instead of that mixture of flour, also would it still work if I made it half the size u did?

  • @battlechimp94 I think it would all be ok.

  • how about if i dip paper towels into plaster and apply???

  • @halfmumi Yes, that would work very well. I have tutorials on that.
