regardless of whatever your current political leanings make you want to believe. Joe Strummer was an active and vocal Socialist ( he said this on many, many occasions) which, if you researched it at all, does not make him a supporter of Communism at all. I do agree that the guy who uploaded the video overanalyzed the hell out of it, Clampdown is nothing more than a song about goverment opression of any kind, not related to any specific form of goverment.

@DaveS12382 They only reunited for the Reading and Leeds festival. But yeah those two from the Libs are great songwritters. The Libertines actually remind me a lot of The Clash.

@DelStrainComedy How is it disrespectful to cover a band that you love and is a huge influence on you. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. If there's a band that could remotely do justice to The Clash, its The Strokes.

I just cannot believe the staggering level of ignorance displayed by some people on here...and you have google and wikipedia too you morons! Joe Strummer was very far left in his politics, end of discussion

@wyoraider86 Actually you're wrong... "Working hard in Harrisburg" Stop trying to be a tough e-thug.

@ Alexm799: No it doesn't you are thinking of the title track "London Calling"--"a nuclear era but I have no fear" If you are gonna repeat what you heard somewhere in a vain attempt to sound knowledgable at least reference the right song
