The strategy of solving the communications problem in higher education involves improving the process of producing and maintaining the content as well as understanding the relevance of information to the end user. In other words, how do we get the right information to those students that need to see today? The solution is to leverage Microsoft SharePoint as a Portal and LMS to allow the Organizations and Departments to create the announcements themselves from their own Department Sites. These announcements can be pushed directly to the student via the student portal.
The Docket feature in AppointLinks SharePoint Portal was created to replace publications, announcements, event or news items delivered to faculty, students, and staff via PDF, email, and the web.
