This Sky report highlights the issue surrounding rubbish disposal in the UK.

Every years rubbish is exported to China so that poor chinese peasants can deal with it. As a result of this recycling dangerous chemicals are dumped into the environment.

This is something the Government would prefer you didn't know.

Why aren't we dealing with recycling properly in our own country? Ask your local authority where they dump your rubbish!

  • Some of these peasants are saving their money and sending their kids to better schools - they may likely set up a sililar factory there. Fact is they are using the capital in a meaningful way. You cannot create "wealth" without hard labor at some point.

  • Not much point going to school if you have to live in a poisoned chemical-waste-land.

  • @neoconhitman for those whinning about their poor living condition, have you donated any money to help them improve their lives? alot of people just judge but don't help, like katrina, all they just blame is the government but few actually help on their own.

for them, it better than in india where home is a wasteland slum because they can't afford anywhere to stay. a home is better than a homeless, people are struggling to move up, we should be supporting them.

  • @akinkhoo so we should support poor people by turning their environment into a toxic wasteland? So because I don't give them my money its ok for them to be exploited by western industries? I haven't given any money to Africa lately so I guess using your logic we can just dump our nuclear waste there and give them a few quid for their troubles.

  • To say that we're "dumping" our rubbish in China is not accurate. The Chinese WANT our rubbish to use in their industries. That rubbish gets recycled and reused in their manufacturing plants. They have a huge economic incentive to accept our rubbish.

  • Some of it gets recycled. Unfortunately any chemicals or pollutants that are left over get dumped into the atmosphere or into rivers.

  • You know you're struggling to find a good story when you interview a guy whose rubbish you found in China.

A handy coincedence his wife was far eastern, it made his opinion slightly less worthless.

  • As a Chinese. I cried for this...

  • PLAAAARSTIC.

    Hi Miss Bowman!

  • tesco!! haha!!

  • I've always thought that the Anglo-Saxons have been exporting their trash all over the world for as long as they've been around, but especially since the 19th Century. And I'm not just talking about physical trash.

They've done a pretty good job at it, too. After all, I'm using their language now.

  • such disgusting chinese people...killing themselves by recycling human waste!

I send my poop via ship to china..must have reached you...enjoy recycling it!

  • You can't use the corrupt government in each provinces and business people represent the whole of the Chinese citizens. The Chinese citizens who are poor are innocent people; they're the one who will be suffering. The business people and the government are not suffering because they drink imported water and live far away from the pollution.

  • Why then, when I go into town and you see the chinese driving a 7 series BMW, they almost always take the rear badges off. Its weird
