@aidsasis yes. Unraveling of relationships is hard for anybody it touches, and children often think it's their fault and they've been abandoned. I don't know if this is a personal tribute but this song shows the love he has for his kids in the midst of turmoil.

My parents are in the middle of a messy divorce. through all of this I have stayed strong and tried to not let it get to me. but as i was listening to this, I finally started to cry and realized that all of this is really happening... and even though I'm crying, I'm smiling. This song helped me get through my first divorce (ha! if only I had learned!) The line that always gets to me, "but your Daddy doesn't live here any more"...the first time I heard this song, I didn't realize what it was about, and that line just about killed me - seriously - when I realized, it related so closely to my own life at that time. I love this song, and always will.

@cbethfly It's still normal for some people lol. Little girls grow up fast, we know about that =( One is 21. The other is 7... and we don't feel any older really.

@avyhannah - he wasn't there to tuck her in and say goodnight. This was a different time, when it was normal for fathers to tuck their little girls into bed and not be seen as odd or wrong.
