(Full Protest Video) Kitty Lambert and eight other gay/lesbian couples go to Buffalo, NY City Hall to get married for Valentine's Day. They soon discover that same gender marriage is still illegal in NY state.
Kitty is able to obtain a marriage certificate with a man she doesn't even know but cannot get the license to protect the woman/family she loves.
KItty's poignant message is clear to everyone in the office that day. It's ludicrous to say that religion stands in the way of same gender marriage. There are many religious places in Buffalo that will marry her and Cheryl. She needs her $40 piece of paper from the government to protect her family. If she can marry a perfect stranger and not the woman she has spent decades loving, her civil rights are being denied. There is absolutely no reason, other than complete discrimination, why gay people should not share these basic human rights.
How ridiculous that our government will allow you to marry a complete stranger but not the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. Where is the "Sanctity" in that?
I love this video, at first I was like - don't blame it on the wrong people!
Then the second half was stunning. I really, really like this.
