  • A .223 for deer?

  • @kyadak yeah... yeah I know... I did lots of research on it before deciding to give it a try... read lots of first hand accounts of .223 being used successfully for deer... picked the ammo based on good reports and characteristics... so I am going to give it a whirl... I will have my 44 as a backup... but hope to not need it...

  • @buffcleb I guess as long as you put the hole in the right spot you can kill them with anything...My dad knew a guy that used to use a .22 with a head shot....lol

  • @kyadak I'm a half way decent shooter out to about 150 yards... I have not done much shooting at ranges beyond that... I'm not a head shot guy though... if you wing them and take their jaws off it mush be a terrible way to die... with the last five deer I've taken only one needed a second shot...

  • @kyadak There's nothing wrong with .223 for deer.

  • @buffcleb I think that's the most important thing... Making sure you take a good shot. I am not for Head/ neck shots... but that was a different era. Good luck and I am hoping to get out for the season opener here in a few weeks. I'll let you know how it turns out and i hope you will do the same.
