I was given Xanax to help me sleep because I haven't been able to sleep lately I hate it, my doctor gave it to me in the hospital when I was in severe pain this week it helps but I don't want to keep taking it. I've only taken two pills since I've gotten it.

I take hydroxyzine for mild anxiety as needed, and Xanax for panic attacks and sleep problems associated with anxiety. I do not take it every day, and sometimes every week. I use 1mg. I'm not concerned about getting addicted because I only use it as needed and I don't get a so-called high or drunk feeling so there isn't a reward-seeking behavior. People have the wrong idea about benzos, they are extremely addictive, but for some can be a life-saver for those with panic attacks for as needed use.
