This song epitomises to me how amazing a song writer Tom Waits is and how awesome a performer Bruce is. This is music at it's most touching!

LOVE TOM WAITS. And respect to Bruce for doing the cover. My only problem with when people like Bruce or Bon Govi do the cover, the say "girls on the Avenue" when the line is "whores on the Avenue". Tom was living in Hell's Kitchen at the time, and was talking about the hookers on 10th ave. No need to clean it up, we are all adults.

Finally saw the Boss in Denver this year-got to touch him!! The most amazing performer...this is my favorite Boss song and I think I have all of them....I love his care for the woking class and his first class liberalism. SPRINGSTEEN ROCKS!!
