@ncc74656m was a total fail on whoever was taking the vid. esp now since he is gone and is truly missed.

@1Philzfan dude...you got 2 girls outta that deal. No bitterness....just love em!

I am not a huge Bruce fan, but I will say that this song is uniquely HIS song. this song and the river are by far the best he has ever done. impressive. the only criticism on this is where was the big man's solo??? geez a total fail on that part.

Can someone enlighten me as to why this version of the song is so popular, while Wait's version goes almost unnoticed? Wait's version just feels so more heartfelt to me.
-
@galarant Correct, but the last verse was actually written by Bruce
-
@galarant yes it is, but this is better version of JG.

There's no song that can compare to this song ... especially when Bruce sings it in concert in New Jersey. He's coming back to NJ and, once again, there was "suspicious" criminal activity on the part of Ticketmaster. "Hell hath no fury than a "Jersey Girl" who's been shut out of Springsteen tickets.

The first concert I ever went to see him at the stadium, some of us stayed up all night taking turns sleeping in the parking lot just to get in line to be able to get those tickets at a local drug store (gone now from browntown). My sister and I attended that concert back in the 80's . How great it was to celebrate her b.d. at his last concert there too! You were great then and you still are today! Some have departed since that last night in 2009, but will remain forever in all our hearts too.

@1Philzfan The State of Jersey had nothing to do with it, partner, for my ex dumped me -- first, like a bad habit, second, like I was the bill she forgot to pay, and, third, like I looked look the Elephant Man -- for the entire varsity soccer team at our local community college (you know, that high school with ashtrays). Let's see, what was the team name? Oh, yeah, the shit-kicking Dynamic Dykes of Destruction!

Looks like someone forgot to focus on the Big Man for the sax solo.
to all the young pretenders in the music industry today. look listen and learn from a true legend. love you bruce
