  • 200 ton tracks! This guy just makes up his own facts.

  • @freewill51

hehehe yeah,i said it sooo meny times, history & Discovery channel aren't near as accurate as they say they are!

  • They done goofed... at 1:10 when describing the tracks of the M1 Abrams.

"These tracks weigh roughly 200 metric tons each"

200 tons each? that's 400 tons, or roughly 6 times the weight of the rest of the tank.

  • @kasmackba

the 3 Heaviest parts of a Tank are:

The Engine, wich is the heart of it all, Then the Turret wich is the second heaviest part, wich also Houses the Main Gun ( wich isen't a Light weith Either ) and Ammo. The Most notourious the Armor. But Tracks are Heavy, but do not believe any thing that These Channel Make you believe?

  • panther wins battles

    t 34 wins wars

elephant... looks great in a museum

  • over 40% what he just said is wrong ! They just make it up as it goes, Ferdinand was over 75 t heavy and not 42t like he said !!!! :O

  • WTF compare Elephant with Paladin is nonsense those two are totally different weapons looking on its purpose.. more close to the Paladin is "Hummel".. The Hummel ("Bumble Bee") was a self-propelled artillery gun based on the Geschützwagen III/IV chassis, armed with a 15 cm howitzer and in this time it has same role like Paladin today, Elephant was tank hunter or tank destroyer like the Russian SU85 etc.I would like to see Paladin like AT weapon on open field with clear sight on tank like target

  • Mk V I mean to say, not Mk VI.

I guess we're both at it today aren't we Dr. Atwater?

  • Dr. Atwater: I sincerely respect both you and your credentials. However, in a previous documentary you stated (correctly) that the Panzer Mk VI (or PANTHER) was the best tank of WWII.

    ..........hmm

  • The heaviest german tank which saw action was the "Jagdpanzer VI", the Jagdtiger, with about 70 metric tons.

  • Do abrams tracks weight 200 tons each=) 1:06 Why dont I believe?

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine I hear the 100mm + bolt on armor (hence we had 200mm armor) of the Elefant/Ferdinand added 5 extra tonnes alround to the tank. The addition of a shield mantlet also added another tonne or so (not sure about this if my readings are right)

  • Why do these american shows always add so much crap (and calling out the same facts numerous times....). All I want to see is how they restore this tank
