@romeonarcizo it's never been released with any of the movies. I made this by combining the footage of the Superman II ending and the clip at the end is from a 1970's Superman documentary. If you have the Ultimate Superman Collection, it's disc 4 I believe.

was this the flyby the were originally going to go with? or was the well-known flyby the original?

No the other one was the original, this was just a deleated scene. i think they filmed several versions, andn they liked the one you see in the movie the best. I know this becasue they use a slightly different one in superman and superman II and III. they reused the one from teh first one in superman IV if im not mistaken...

I'm 80% sure I've seen a flyby where Superman smiles and then says "Hi!" at the screen. Have I imagined this?
