A bilingual (Chinese English) discussion of Chinese acquisitions and investments in the US. Attorney Lai Qingyang and partner Attorney Du discuss how cultural differences are managed. Both could discuss the key factors of success in a US China business partnership/merger.

Andy's case study was a great example of a private Chinese company coming to the US, picking up a distressed company inexpensively, getting credentials in the process, and then being able to bid on Middle Eastern work (becoming a true China-based MNC).

Questions from the callers were: does inbound M&A qualify for an investment visa (yes, but also for L-1's which is probably more efficient for big companies); also, how does an inventor protect himself with technology applied in China.
