Fr. Ezra, thank you for making this wonderful video. As always, you explain everything so well. I only hope enough people open their ears to hear. God bless you.

Thank you, Fr. Ezra, for these very wise and informative words! I hope and pray that a lot of Catholics and non-Catholics who watch this video will have their eyes opened! We are living in some very serious and dangerous times. If the HHS Mandate is allowed to continue then it will begin a very slippery slope to the break down of our freedoms and soon we won't even recognize our country! God help us!!!!

We'll save abortion for later. I won't be arguing the "religious freedom" angle either, since it's unnecessary in this case. I believe we were talking about "access" to contraception. Is it an imposition for me to say that, since Catholic institutions only seek to avoid paying for contraception, and do not seek to prohibit the use or distribution of contraceptives, that to use the word "access" in this context is to define it as free of cost, and thus, tie cost with prohibition?

They picket at abortion clinics and stuff like that, but that's not what the video is about. It's about them being exempt from the mandate and how the mandate is essentially destroying freedom of religion, which is ridiculous.

But they aren't fighting for the outlaw of contraception? Nor are they claiming the right to decide whether or not their employees use contraception?

They are fighting against Obamacare and the HHS mandate, which would require them to cover contraception and abortion as part of the health benefits for employees. But to them it is a "sin" to use these things, whether you're Catholic or not.

Hold it. I think we're talking about different things. Like I said, I'm not Catholic, and I'm not terribly familiar with the practices of Catholic institutions. Do Catholic run institutions disallow the use of contraception in their employees? Do they deny "access"?

What word do you prefer? In this case it is about access, and it's not about you paying for it. It's about churches paying for it. You have ACCESS to food if you can go to a grocery store, but it still costs money. Just like family planning. Simple semantics bro.

    STOP. CALLING. IT. ACCESS.

By that definition, I don't have access to food, because it costs me money. People do NOT have a right to force me to pay for their contraception and their abortions. On the topic of abortion in particular, it's like owning slaves, and expecting me to help pay for them.

I'm not Catholic, and I'm not a Republican, by the way. I didn't even watch the video. I just saw the word "access," and it set me off. Fire back. I'm feeling combative. COME AT ME BRO!

What a bunch of nonsense. Terrible analogies. What does a made up story about a kosher deli have to do with anything? If you take federal money, don't pay taxes, hire non-catholics, and give them health benefits and they want access to contraception or abortions then they should have access. If you don't want contraception or abortions, don't use contraception or have abortions. But people have a right to affordable access.
