Administrator: $85,000 +

Here are a few things you need to be aware of in evaluating this wage information.

1. Certified Medical Coders are commonly paid seventeen percent more than non-certified medical coders.

2. Wages increase with responsibility and higher certification.

3. Individuals with basic credentials and one year of experience make around $25,000 - $30,000 each year. Medical coders with 18+ years of experience make an average of 70% to 80% more: $45,000 - $50,000 each year.
