  • Arguing about whether someone's music is good is silly. Music is an art form and appreciation of it is totally subjective - its about whether it speaks to YOUR heart, and since we are all different we will never all disagree on what is good art. Me personally I love the simple lyrics and i can feel the energy he projects and its super positive. But its ok if others disagree.

  • @elmatto2006 I am not a fan of the BEP, either; however, if I had to listen to one because somebody had a strapon to my ass, it sure as hell would not be this factitious hippie. ew!

  • @DermochelysCoriacea why dont you go listen to the black eyed peas. you are ruining bretts vibes

  • 0:48 Love the lick in this song.

  • he like the feel of free dom

  • That third definition is obsolete, and the other two are the case, but different phrasings are helpful in order to clarify the meaning of a word. Here it is from Oxford English Dictionary:

Alluring by false show; showily or superficially attractive but having in reality no value or integrity.

With the. That which is meretricious about a person, creative work, etc.

It may be harsh, but think about how brutal it would be if he were to suddenly realize it himself.

  • 1. alluring by a show of flashy or vulgar attractions; tawdry.

    2. based on pretense, deception, or insincerity.

    3. pertaining to or characteristic of a prostitute.

that is the definition for meretricious. A bit harsh, but you seem to have strong opinions so lets leave it at that. If you want you can have the last word.

  • Listen. I didn't say his music didn't speak to you. That is indisputable. I am merely asserting that his lyrics are not brilliant, but meretricious; although, I do not doubt his sincerity. Anyway, I like his sound, don't get me wrong. Just not his lyrics so much. I like his voice, too.

  • Seriously, serious. I'm just curious why you cannot believe that I think his lyrics are brilliant. It's like disagreeing on a book/movie. What speaks to one person, says nothing to another. Have you listened to all his music? Just curious. His music makes me think and feel. That's what I think makes a great artist. Lame??? don't know where that comes from, but hey I respect your opinion. I would be interested to know which artist you truly enjoy. (
