This is a Mcdonald ML 65-70 Horse power super diesel engine
This engine has had new big end and little end bearings made, the head fixed, and been fully stripped down and rebuilt.
When this engine was purchased from one farmer to another, it was stripped down to be moved, and the flywheel was put on 90 degrees out, this made the pre oiling of the big end at the wrong position there for the big end wasnt getting propper lubrication and this is why the bearing failed.
Due to the size of the flywheel we had no way of lifting the flywheel off and turning it 90 degrees so we have marked the flywheel in the position it is to be put in for pre lubrication. Engine runs great now and is a credit to the members who restored it.
Please enjoy the short video and ask a question or two. Thanks for watching

What a smoke, this engine needs to be professionally serviced or overhauled.

Wat een rook, deze motor moet nodig vakkundig nagekeken worden of worden gereviseerd.

LOL, I love the " Read Instructions" on the name plate. Hell if I ever got a engine this big, i would read the instruction 100 times before starting. Guess they made them hardier back in the day

Weighed 3.5 tones and made 70 hp. Hmmm, sounds like late 70's early 80's Detroit!
