  • this very useful...keep up the good work...

  • Anybody with old SATA Optilca Drives, forget about it on this board, while it will read from DVD in windows, Booting from them b4 windows is problematic and CD's won't read at all.

Another issue is if you put a large CPU cooler on the memory channels are too close to the CPU housing and as such the CPU cooler may well sit over the first memory channel

Overall i guve this product a thumbs down

  • Got one the other day and regretting it

the 4 SATA ports at the bottom were replaced with GSATA and ESATA controllers both are useless for anything but HD's or new SATA optical drives

in Rev 1.0 the BIOS needs to be updated to F5 to even allow u to do any sort of odifying of the meory speeds and even that is limited to just changing the multiplier, no way to change the timings and any adjusting of the VOltage cores off standard just makes the system reboot to recovery mode

  • that Gigabyte board is fookin ugly man, Ima grab the MSI board at 50% discount in the UK. 8th Sept.

  • the i5 platform has no Northbridge (IOH), it's built in to the CPU.

  • the

    ud3 - 150 CAN

    ud4- 170 CAn

    ud5- 250

    ud6- 280

Price will most definatley drop as well

  • yes its like a SB.

  • hang on, isnt the northbridge on i5 mobos pratcially a southbridge? coz lynnfield has DMI (like the high end i7's QPI) so theres no need for a northbridge? rite? correct me if im wrong.

  • holy balls how have i not seen this channel before

  • Anandtech has a quick preview on the Lynnfield vs. Core 2 Quad vs. i7 Bloomfield.
