Brass bands battle in New Orleans - Red Bull Street Kings

Four brass bands: The Free Agents, The Stooges, To Be Continued, and Soul Rebels marched through the historic Tremé neighborhood, followed by a traditional New Orleans second-line parade, to center stage at Red Bull Street Kings under the Claiborne Bridge.

Each band performed in front of more than 5,500 energized fans, spectators and music lovers, trying to earn the crown of Red Bull Street Kings. In the end, it was The Stooges who took it all.

when i was in high school, my music instructor to our jazz band took on a trip to new orleans in what would be 4 months before katrina hit. i just wanna say that trip with my band changed my life. the spirit of the people there are something else, and it seems it is still like that even after the disaster. stay strong N'awlins.
