  • Guys, after I installed my pentium dual core, my computer just set all the fans to maximum speed and didn't boot. The processor also did NOT have the protective cover on the back. Is that the reason why the processor didn't work?

  • it is possible that you have a dead processor because it didnt have protective plastic cover

  • @PeteRoy 930's DO NOT come with the dark plastic cover, just with the transparent one.

  • Do you know of anywhere where I can get of those black shipping covers? I'm reselling my i7 and misplaced it somewhere. I have the little plastic square it fits into, is that good enough?

  • Ah, great! I haven't installed an Intel chip since the cartridge days, this helped a lot with me being freaked out about installing my Core i7.

  • Got to get or of these!!!

  • LOUDNESS!
