There are many superb tenors in signature roles. For Otello and Andrea Chenier we have Mario del Monaco and then "the others". Corelli, Pavarotti, Vickers, Domingo et al are special in their own qualities, but NO ONE has equalled del Monaco's voice, artistry, passion, and versatility (think Siegmund and Lohengrin!). His dramatic intensity is overwhelming.

Tell me guys, is there anybody who could topple him from his unreachable high tower as the best tenor ever heard in the world ? I mean with THAT KIND OF VOICE .
Holy macro ! He is toooo much...he is superb.
Again, who in these last forty years could project a shadow on his glory as a dramatic tenor. NOBODY !!!

Does anyone know when this recording was made and if it is available? This is simply the BEST!!! Del Monaco never disappoints in this role, and his voice is so perfectly suited for it. The dramatic intensity is better then any other tenor I can think of. Thanks for posting this!
