if the stylist acted like it was normal for that to happen they were probably lifting color which makes the outcome of the color more accurate to what you want and expands the shaft to absorb more dye---- but usually the "lifter"(aka peroxide/bleach) is added in with the dye they mix for an easier hair coloring process

please help me i recntly had a disaster at a hair salon, went to get highlights and ended up with a white stripe down the middle of my hair, they put brown over that and it turned out ok, just wondering what went wrong there ! i want to try it again but is it going to be the same outcome? help me!
