  • This is how a mother stimulates the new born into breathing and 'getting going' usually no harm comes to the calf and it gets up within minutes. Sometimes the 'water bag' gets left on the calf's head and the calf can suffocate if it doesn't come off, this experienced mum is rubbing the calf around so the bag is pulled off.
