this is like a bird version of Jurassic Park where the cockatiels are t-rex and budgies are velociraptor
-
I used to let my cockatiels do this, until we put pesticides on our lawn then we couldn't do it anymore
-
can u do this with budgies without clipping their wings?
how often do u need 2 clip their wings?
-
can i still train my birds to be tame?
one of them Josephine is 1yr old. she is freaked out when i put my hands in the cage. the 3yr old or so-harry is in the same cage and i was wondering can i still tame them? together as a pair, at this age? hoow long did it take u and also how long till u decided to let them outside without clipped wings? my backyard is not grass but trees everywhere completely green, will they fly off?

@FanaTiK027 omgsh yes! it is! I learnt a tiny bit of German when I was in year 7 at school, and wellensittich is one of the few words I remember! That, and vogel for parrot haha. We call them Budgerigars in English, or Budgies for short :)

How did you get them NOT to run away? I want to clip my bird's feathers but I'm not sure I can trust him and I fear that he might run away or something.

@chocolateAnime09 well, if you aren't sure about clipping feathers yourself, a vet can teach you how to do it properly so you don't injure your bird :) As for them running away, they are enjoying the opportunity to eat fresh grass, so they would rather stay and eat that than fly away. There is a risk involved with keeping any animal that something may happen, but I would rather have my birds trained enough so that I have the confidence to let them outside and enjoy nature than be kept in a cage.

@tamaramacrae1990 haha yes, I watch out for that now, where I lived, there were no cats around, and the birds were very safe, but nowadays yes, there are cats, that is why my sister and I have to make sure that we watch them the whole time that they are outside :)
