The big business of farming in the US is booming but undocumented migrants make up more than half of the farming workforce. They are ripe for exploitation and face low salaries, substandard housing, risk of injury, pesticides and heat stroke. Some literally work themselves to death. In this episode, Inside USA investigates farming in the era of free trade.

  • @boysselle Oh I realize what you're saying believe me. But if they were hiring Americans, the conditions would have to improve or they would get sued. Probably there would be a pickers union or something. What's happening is so cruel to human beings! Thanks for the comment.

  • @buddybleau-this is hard break job, I never saw an American working in the fields. The pay isn't only very low but the conditions are inhuman, remember illegals, don't have rights=NEW SLAVERY

  • @michaelcox951 That's bullshit! Maybe a $100 a week, but certainly not a day.

  • @boysselle I get so pissed off when some congressman says Americans won't do that type of work. This is a lie! Americans won't do the work for the cheap wages that are paid illegals. That's why they won't do it. Pay them at least minimum wage and Americans will do the work. Instead, farmers exploit the illegal immigrants and put the extra money in their pockets. I am sick of this shit!

  • @boysselle I'm half spanish half english. Hope things get better for Mexicans, there was horrible news quite recently about the people killed by the drug cartels.

  • @BVargas78-I won't get in details but there is a revolution going on in Mexico, isn't just the narcos against the "good" Government. government vs narcos vs people. Like I said is illegal to bear arms but people are trying to have them to defend themselves. I have friends living in Ciudad Juarez, and they said is a living hell; Juarez is like ghost town, now. Are you hispanic?

  • @boysselle well, i'm in uk but if i was made homeless, and faced hunger/starvation, despite trying to be a responsible citizen, i would be inclined to revolution.

  • " we don't have enough Americans that are willing to do the hard work " SO TRUE.

This make me sick so much hypocrisy. The piece of shit senator useless person

he should work 1 day in the fields, to see how that feels.

  • @BVargas78 -easy to say,in Mexico is illegal to have guns, if you can you have to do it through the mexican government. Our government isn't the best either, why you don't fight you can have guns in this country.

  • @951mjc sorry to hear that... but if it makes you feel any better... a lot of people are dissatisfied with there Union. Just another flaw of Corporate capitalistic ideal. Its all really one big bad joke.
