When in Stockholm, I got enchanted by the numerous islands, canals, bridges, tasteful and never pompous official buildings. On a nice day people sit in the open air and share laughs and starings with each other , so rare in nothern Europe! I found out that Swedish people, according to statistics, adore to read comics and cartoons, to divorce and re-marry (how courrageous), drink and suicide (so passè)!

I admire their ethical concept of ´lagom`, kind of moral moderation and self control which gave enviable results in the organisation of their society and funnier results in the mediterranean summers back in the 70´s and 80´s!

In this video I wish to share some of my impressions of the city caught by my camera.

Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953) is one of my favourite composers. His immense in concept ballet ´´Romeo and Juliet`` (1918) has always been a source of inspiration for me. I selected for the video the playful ´Gavotte`. In the first act, on their way out of the celebration in the Montague house, the guests decide to dance a gavotte so that they clearly state to all of us that they are leaving the party!

Mark Ermler (b.1932) is a highly esteemed USSR conductor mostly known in the West for his records of russian opera and ballet. He conducts the legendary orchestra of the Bolshoi theatre.

Enjoy.
