I've been looking for this artist for about 2 years, could't remember her name for the life of me. I finally found today her because of the Fleet Foxes :)

He wasn't. He was the ultimate Jewish rebel and I think others have an issue with that. Her songs won't have an impact like he did have on Constantine and go on to ultimately shape the Western World.

I believe that it was a well disguised dig at JD Souther, "a bandit and a heartbreaker" with whom she had a fling.

The whole Jesus-story is a combination of metaphors-possible truths-and older mythologies.
So I suppose a creative artist can weave any number of interesting ideas around it.

Perhaps the bandit and heartbreaker was a man that disappeared and Jesus was her comfort? Jesus was no simple carpenter. One day perhaps the truth of his missing years between boyhood and his public teachings will show he was a student of the esoteric, in Egypt perhaps?
