AREVA Solar's Compact Linear Fresnel Reflector (CLFR) solar steam generators produce superheated, high-pressure steam directly from the sun. The steam can then be used to spin an electricity-producing turbine.

The generators are simple, durable, and scalable, and relatively quick to install. They are also the most land-efficient renewable energy technology in operation, generating 1.5- to 3-times more power per acre of land than competing solar technologies.
