  • Me-262 engine?

How many hot dogs do you cook per day?

  • @xBiocide The mechanism that makes ramjet engines work is the temperature increase across a shock wave, which requires supersonic speeds.

Assuming the [subsonic] flow is approximately isentropic before the burner/flameholder, (meaning no heat is introduced, in this case due to friction between the air and the engine's surface) then the higheset factor by which the temperature can increase by is ~20%.

Either there is some type of igniter inside or I am greatly underestimating viscous effects.
