YB Rants: Sonic Fan Characters

Sonic fan characters can be original as anything, but most of them are created without regard to creativity. Most of these characters are subject to unoriginality and uselessness. This is basically my opinion about Sonic fan characters.

I even had one, but I chose to disregard it for reasons that are explained in the video.

Here's some advice....when you make sonic fan characters.....DON'T INCLUDE THEM IN THE SAME SPECIES AS--------

Hedgehogs, Foxes, Echindas, Wolfs, or Dragons!!!!

All it does is makes your fan character boring and overused no matter how great the design is!!!

Open up a animal encyclopedia site and choose a animal that is uncommon and unique and base your character around it

And don't give it plain names like "Twilight, harmony, Sakura, etc"

Its boring! Choose a name like..Pintoza the Hyrax! :D

My character is Reika the ring-tailed lemur. She has gray fur and has a black and white striped tail which she uses as an extra arm to grab things, and usually holds a sword with it. She relies on her tail to balance and attack, so if it is held down she falls over, leaving her open to attack.

Making your characters recolored and too perfect can also make your character a Unoriginal Mary-sue or Gary-stu.

I have a sonic fan chaaracter he is a nine tailed fox named Ventus and he's what Joshscorcher discribes as a manly character he is not a muscle bound freak he is a humble character he has high inteligents, speed, and strangth but he dose have a few flaws he can be tricked easily, he has high distrust in others espcally women, and when he was youger he was stabed in the chest and so he only has a limited fighting time befor his wounds reopen

What compels someone to even think of even making a hedgehog fan character. I've got shit loads of Sonic characters and none of them even rely on Sonic and his friends for a plot.

My fan characters were originally human, but upon arrival to Mobius, they become Mobians. I also do anything BUT Hedgehogs.
