So sorry nobody explained it to you. Doubting Thomas is from a scene in the Bible. Read it about it in John chapter 20:24-30. It's about the exhilaration that comes when a person gets to know Jesus and realizes He's the legit God, but then when it comes time to Him wanting to make changes in your life, you want out. It's this middle place - knowing you've seen the truth, but then being too cowardly to stick to it - that is the hardest place to be.

Thomas wasn't calling Jesus God. What Thomas said is the modern day equivalent of saying "Oh my God." If I saw Jesus I would say "Oh my God" too, doesn't mean I am calling him God.
