This is fake Kendo. Korea do not have history of swordmanship. Just fake copy of Japanese kendo. They only started in 1950s. See the influence of flashy movie influence, Just a joke.

“Corea has no Samurai. She lacks what Japan has always had - a cultured body of men, superbly trained in both mind and body, the soldier and scholar in one, who held to a high ideal of loyalty, patriotism, and sacrifice for country. “
(William Elliot Griffis, Corea, Hermit Nation, 1894)

Haidong Gumdo is no where close to Kendo. Korea's sword culture has long historical roots, where as the samurai were horse archers only, until they fought the first war against the Khan, who brought Korean swordsmen with him. Now they have come out with Shinkendo, which takes it roots from Haidong Gumdo. All Martial Arts start somewhere and they all build upon each other. And myself being a 1st Dan in Gumdo, it has helped me out tremendously, no matter what the origin was.

@HDGDisnotfromkendo Furthermore detailed translation
It is only archery that has been transmitted to our country from ancient times. The sword and the spear only have tools. Those directions are not found even if it searches. does not test at the examination hall. Therefore,it stopped using sword and spear as weapons.
When samurai rushed, our soldiers were killed by all members, without the ability of extracting a sword from a sheath to also oppose with a spear.

@ You can say whatever you want. Korea has longer sword history an Japan's. You can quote Muye Dobo Tongji all you want, proof is that swords have been forged in Korea since BC (which Japan has no BC swords) Swords we're forged in Korea without stop since ancient times, why are they going to have a tool & not know how to use it? Korea has not borrowed anything more from Japan than Japan has took (even stolen) from Korea

@enushisama Why don't you just admit that Japan received it's sword forging technology from Korea? Japan's oldest swords that are national treasures all came from Korea! By your definition-all martial arts are a fabrication. All martial arts are built on older martial arts and techniques before them. HDGD is no different. It looks nothing like any Japanese sword style.

@HDGDisnotfromkendo The B.C. sword in Korea. You should be proud of it.
It is good that takes pride in own country. I admire it as a neighbor.
However, HDGD is fabrication. I despise it as a neighbor. You should not be proud of it.

@enushisama Please show any Japanese swords made in BC times? I can show you many Korean swords from BC.
Ive done Haidong gumdo for almost 2 years now and i have a problem with your ending of 1 Your actually suppose to stab after ther horizontal cut. And I can't tell by the poor graphics but im pretty sure your blocking could better cover and shield your head. Also why are you moving so slow and robotic?
