  • @hollowedhead thanks for the info.. I really want to get into the repointing/repairing CMU/Brick jobs as they are the least desirable. Where i live the economy isn't as hard on construction jobs.I was thinking of starting a small team of just repointing. I know I could do a cleaner, faster job and safer job than most out there.

  • @acidwarp316 If I were to offer any advice to you it is this..... Take a long hard look at the construction industry in your area. Pin point and list those jobs that are considered 'specialist' jobs or tasks. You need to identify those jobs that are labour intensive or boring (the ones at the bottom of every construction workers wish list !!) . These jobs are the jobs you want because you can streamline the precedure and still charge similar labour intensive prices ! Let me know...

  • @hollowedhead hey I work and live in the United States and i have seen a lot of U.K tools and methods more advanced .I told my old boss about it and he laughed. I no longer work for them and would love to start my own business do you have any advice? or where i can buy these type of machines i would greatly appreciate it.thanks.

  • I remember Gunpoint in the early nineties... I also remember your rivals easi-point !

I was the third company specialising in repointing and I remember going up against both of you for contracts. I also remember winning a few with my machine because (at that time) yours could not pump course sand where mine could. It is good to see you lot still going and I wish you well for the future. After all if you can make it through two recessions you have to be good ! Cheers from LRS.

  • Now that does look good, I like the way you use proper mortar. One video I watched used a thin mortar as his long tube like hand pumped device would clog up! At least you understand the different types and have trained people. What sort of cost for doing the side wall of a 3 bedroom house and part of the chimney?

Whenever I want proper trades people I have difficulty as most end up being cowboys taking shortcuts - so I would rather get a proper company to do the work for me.
