Exactly what can be done differently with traditional animation, though? Perhaps trying to make it all a bit more detailed, but that would be pretty tedious work, and it would eventually just look like 3D animation anyway if you kept going with that idea. It's not simple-minded to say that traditional work doesn't really have much new to offer us, it's just an observation. You're upset that your favorite style isn't as popular anymore, but that's no reason to put down other styles.

@poochy2479 Maybe for the simple minded like what Disney has become think that all the traditional animation has been done before. I still think if they collaborated with one another they could make masterpieces such as this. Unfortunately however the high demands for 3D and more Pixar movies will for sure prolong the process. It's sad really. It's a dying art, I don't know if it'll ever be as popular as it used to.

They do plan to do more with traditional animation, though. It's just not as common because pretty much everything that can be done with traditional animation has already been done, while people are still exploring the possibilities of working with 3D models, with all the different effects and styles and such.

@poochy2479 I can admit that I over exaggerated my computer statement. But regardless there's a certain vibe I get that just doesn't work as much as traditional animations does. I just wish Disney could do both. They've mainly become Pixar now. Princess and the Frog was their latest cartoon in 10 years. It's just a shame.

Well, duh, of course I'm going to laugh at anybody who suggests that computer animation is "easy". Honestly, it's pretty much just taking all the work you do for traditional animation and then doing more work to create 3D models and manipulate them in a way to give them individual life and expression.
You really don't strike me as the type who really knows much about the artistic process. You just picked one art style that you liked and rejected everything else right away.
-
@poochy2479 I sure as hell do. That art form truly speaks to me. It's awing to see the immense amount of talent that was put onto paper and see it become a full length motion picture film. You also forgot about the brilliant musicals composed. BTW I appreciate you laughing at my way of thinking. I have never once called your logic flawed. I respected your opinion. I was only expressing mine.

end with a happily ever after of some sort. The only difference between the two companies is that one likes to use computer animation while the other is more recognised for traditional animation. At this point, it really just seems like you have a personal preference for traditionally animated movies.
-
This is where I take a moment to laugh at you for thinking that computer animation doesn't require as much skill or creativity as traditional work.
Anyway, if you really don't like the movies, then I can't really change your opinion. I could easily argue, though, that each of Pixar's computer animated movies does have its own unique style for the characters and Disney is all just the same flat bunch of sameness. Or, you know, that all of Disney's movies are just princess things that

@poochy2479 I mean seriously think about the amount of time and effort spent into hand-drawn animation. With computers, it's a simple click of a mouse.
-
@poochy2479 Ok on a further note, the graphics and detail within those films are just too similar, and it's because Pixar refuses step outside their trademark look. What I loved so much about old Disney was because of the incredibly detailed an unique artwork that went into the drawings. That's true talent right there, and it was different every time because they had different artists. Plus they had brilliant musicals. Pixar doesn't even do that.
Walt Disney: My coworkers you have forgotten me.
Disney Staff: No how could we?
Walt Disney: You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten me look inside yourselves you are more then what you appear to be you must take your place as the greatest movie studio ever.
Disney Staff: How can we go back we're not who we used to be.
Walt Disney: Remember who you are you are my company and the one true kings of family entertainment remember who are...remember...remember...remember.
