awesome catch id love to see a union pacific triple header with 3985 844 and 4449 that would be a hell of a catch

Wheel slippage caused by direct mechanical connection to "drivers" and can be eccessive at times even with the sanders operating. Also the curve at PA Jct. is over a 2% grade and a 6 degree curve. Great video of the 4449. All the steam was gone by the time I went to work for the GN/BN RR.

2 legends together, 844-the last steam locomotive built for the UP, and the SP the last of its kind(besides 4460)

While do the wheels slip so much at :08 and :51?? You would think there would be plenty of tractive effort with thise two locomotives being combined.

What does it say at the front of the deflector? I can't quite make it out.

The very front is 4449 and the side panel is Day Light. HD was out when this was shot, so it's not as sharp as my current videos.
