This explanation is also posted on my blog. If you'd rather read it like an article rather than try to read it in this video, please go there instead: http://vocaloidnonsense.blogspot.com/p/megurine-lukas-heavens-door-explained....

This explanation would not have been created if it weren't for mewrenee145 (http://www.youtube.com/user/mewrenee145), who kindly asked me to explain the meaning of this song, so I replied to her with my guess of what this song is trying to explain.

Keep in mind that the following as only my assumption of what the song means, and the real meaning could be something completely different.

---

Luka has some kind of lover or soulmate, and she wants to die with them (the song talks about dancing until running out of breath, and also has the word "us", as well as the fact that the song is called Heaven's Door, so she might want to go to heaven, and it shows her shoes off in the picture, relating to the psychological fact that people who plan to commit suicide remove their shoes first, but the shoes off in the picture might also not have any specific meaning).

Luka could also be an angel in this song, watching her lover live out their life without her, and Luka wants to protect them.

I do believe there's something in this song about death by fire.

[[DESCRIPTION FROM VIDEO CAN BE PICKED UP HERE]]

In this part, Luka could either be crying from happiness or crying from despair.

If happiness, then it could be that the person she loves has died and is now with her in that place and they can once again be together. Another possibility is that Luka is still alive, but she suddenly hears the voice of Death calling her to take her to, well, wherever she is to go when she dies.

If despair, then it could mean that Luka is sad about that person dying and she had wanted them to live a longer life, but it could mean that, if it is the voice of Death, then she is sad that she must die.

I believe that Luka is most likely crying from happiness, if it's true that she's crying, since, as said in the last line, she had been wanting that person to call to her.

---

After I wrote all of this, I read it through again, and pieced together a final explanation.

Luka died (maybe suicide) after living a life with a person she loved and went to heaven as an angel. Once there, she yearned to see the person she loves again, but all she could do was watch over them from heaven, wishing them peace (but possibly wishing them to die to see them again). If this is correct and she did wish for them to die, then I believe she killed them from her place in heaven using fire, causing the one she loves to burn to death. After successfully killing that person, Luka hears their voice calling out to her in heaven, so the two are re-united.

Do not let this cheery-sounding description fool you... the meaning of this song is supposed to be very sick and twisted.

---

I hope you're able to maybe get a faded meaning of what the song is about from what I've explained here. If not, I'm very sorry to waste your time. However, I should tell you, I am not incredibly knowledgeable. The Japanese translations explained, however, I only wrote down if I was 100% sure of the translation, since I am adapting to the Japanese language, so you can be assured that this information was not false.

Thank you so much for reading all the way through.

  • the rose could mean that even though their love wasn't easy, a rose has thorns, it was still beautifull, roses are pretty~

´to leave a sure evidence` could mean that if the person died (in a fire or some other way), people will find out that it wasn't an accident.

´I am your...` could also be finished with ´lover`, meaning that she loves that person very much, or ´savior`, since she mentions in the first chorus she will ´rescue` that person.

  • Thank you for putting the URL(is that what it is called?) for my channel on your video description.

    Yay first comment ;D
