Rope dart can be defined into 2 styles,one with a whip head and the other with a hammer head. In the old days rope dart was used by the body guards by wearing it on the body and can be throwing or kicking out in one strike. Their are 6 wearing methods and to be kept in secret. Nowaday rope dart become a contiuous form only and not much people still practice the rope dart in single gestures and aimed in froce and target.

Great video. I have always wanted to learn how to use this weapon, but the people I trained under didn't it. It's great to see you showing some of the more practical uses of it, and not just the forms. The different ways of wearing it was also a nice plus; people don't show this kind of knowledge.
Sifu, I'm convinced you are like an encyclopedia of weapon skills and history.

My late sifu really used this kind of weapon when he was a body guard by 1926.
