@boxwoodgreen The piper Bill Millin played his pipes on sword beach normandy d day. He walked up and down the beach under heavy gun fire playing the highland laddie and the road to the isles. Such a heroic act, such bravery inspired the troops. Pipes will always have a place in the scottish regiments and commonwealth

Reel of Tulloch was played by Piper Jimmy Richardson at the German wire under heavy machine gun fire at the Regina Trench Courcellette Somme Oct 8,1916. Winning the Victoria Cross.
