A "Suite" in general, like the "Nutcracker Suite" is selections of music, from a ballet, or Opera, put into a "concert" setting...

Carmen Suite is a ballet choreographed by cuban dancer Alberto Alonso (brother-in-law
of Alicia Alonso)
They are two versions
One version for Maya Plisetskaya and other for Alicia Alonso both Prima Ballerinas Assolutas
The difference here is that Mr.Shchedrin (husband of Maya Plisetskaya) made an arrangement with percussions and thats why is not equal to the bizets score
