Build Plans:
http://www.indymogul.com/post/3874/

The BEST D.I.Y. Jib on the internet. For $80 and one stop to the hardware store, you can build your very own DIY Jib Arm (Camera Crane).
And after a few hours of building you'll be getting AWESOME new shots that'll make your veiwer feel like they're soaring through the air, along with your Box Office Sales...cause you'll be the next Martin Scorsese. And stay tuned for modifications and instructions on how to use it.

  • Why are people giving this guy's comment thumbs down? He answered the person's question. If someone asked where he or she could get a Ferrari, and I said "At a Ferrari dealer," would I also get thumbs down?

Someday, if you're really serious about filmmaking, you're going to have to put up the money for Final Cut, Premiere or Avid. Do you really think Martin Scorcese is going to use Windows Movie Maker on his next film?

  • nice but where the hell am i going to store it

  • @snowboarderrx nuts and bolts secure it better in my experience doing diy stuff for my camera.

  • why nuts and bolts? why not just use screws?

  • I like it good job...

  • @mattofwashington

Martin Scorcese's editor uses Lightworks. Now open source and free. fcp.co/final-cut-pro/news/109-will-fcp-be-killed-off-by-open-source-lightworks

  • I built this jib and my onyl question is alot of the weight and strain seems to be on the lazy suzan piece. Ive yet to add counter weight to the other side but i hope that will ease it. if not it seems like the lazy suzan is going to pop of from the weight. Any suggestions to make the center pivot piece reinforced?

  • Nice until I saw the test film...

  • Looks WAY to rickety. Not fluid at all.

Much better tutorials out there that use better parts from common household electronics for around the same price.

  • at the begining of these videos im all like "yeah i can probably do this" and at the end i always think F**K why is this so hard

  • I miss Jared in the final BFX Episode

  • @Rhoran If you remove the top bolt it will not be very steady it will need a slot hole so you can have the top bolt fixed but not tight on the wood, use a nylock nut, and then you can tilt BUT this is still using a sledge hammer to crack a nut. much over the top in how its made Aluminium box much better.
