thats because AMD/ATI is about QUALITY, and NVIDIA is about ADVERTISING.
In the end NVIDIA advertises so much and delivers almost nothing.
If it weren't for ATI, NVIDIA's GPUs would be 1000$ or more...

ah.. actually ATI wasn't that far behind NVIDIA, the only true advantage the nvidia held during all that period was the physx(which is just a bought tech), sure, they had the the best card, but ATI had the best one for some months before the gtx 295 came out aswell.. im not saying nvidia sucks, just saying that nvidia brags about every achievement they get and advertise to make their products look better than what they are, while ATI focus more on developing (i was replying to sonofhendrix post)

in 5 years this will be someones screen saver

@XBlackFuryX really? have you developed anything for both cards? If so can you could back that statement up?
-
It will be a long time before realtime hi-def gaming catches up to casuistic lit renders.
-
I want games with Physx and ATi Stream physics NOW! NOW!
-
well nvidia is now making a bunch of support via their GPU cards, lets mention Octane render as the best and cheapest unbiased render application out there, and it is working.. ati is completely dead, who cares which one is better, give me the one that works

when will ati ever RELEASE any of these great demos you hear about? I mean there are like 5 or 6 I've heard about over the past year and they say they will release them as soon as they can? 2 years later?... still not released yet,. Wow. -_- oh well.

thaz was cool

@BlueBajs, what are you saying is impossible ! You can't make a SLI or CFX with more than 4 GPUs , remember that a 5970 is a double gpu card, so you can make a quad CFX with 2 970 :)

This is the most realistic rendering of projectile vomiting boxes I have seen all day. Bravo!

anyone remember the good old "3dfx Voodoo Cards" that actually had dual link capabilities. lol
This was was simulated and rendered with Plugins called PhyFluids for Maxon Cinema 4D.
It will run definitely much faster with new superb Radeon HD 5870 !!!

is that real time rendering?

No this was rendered offline.
But simulation can run in near real time on Radeon HD 4870.
