Why does washing and agitating your raw biodiesel cause an emulsification? If you made a good batch but still have emulsions then you most likely have glycerol in your bio. The glycerol contains soaps that immediately mix with the water and the form the emulsion which will look sorta like mayonaise or nasty pudding. If you have clean raw biodiesel and wash it you won't get emulsions at all even using bubble washing or other heavy agitations. These samples were taken from the same batch, same bottle. The larger one was deliberately allowed to have a small amount of glycerol in it for this experiment. Otherwise they are the same.

  • No. The point of the video was that biodiesel that is processed properly will not emulsify. If someone is getting emulsifications they are doing something wrong.
