Well, the word Jedi really has no root per se. It is a made up term for the most part, but, the reason why I decided to keep the term is because it is a great short word to describe exactly what it is that I teach and do. Jediism recognizes the living force and uses the energy harmoniously with the Universe which provides and allows it. Previously it has been called Shamanism, and American Indians have practiced this as well as a part of their native spirituality.
