I'd suggest using everyday minerals' flat top brush. It's extremely soft and works very well with mineral foundation. Just search anywhere, their flat top brush is a favorite of everyone! Of coz, including me. =) I have mac 187 too but I have to say it's not a good brush for loose powder. If you have dry skin, try their original glo formula. Use semi-matte for combination skin.

That's a good idea about wearing every few days!! But it seems like if there's something my skin doesn't like about the foundation, it's probably best to stay away from it altogether if I can :) I've found Studio Tech to be great for my combination skin (oily nose and forehead), but keep in mind I also use a setting powder with this foundation to make it stay matte :)

The sample was free! I believe you can ask for samples in any MAC store (which is something not a lot of people know about I think...) I definitely recommend getting a sample of foundation if you can, because it's super important to know how you skin will react to the product. Plus, they're not cheap and they come in large quantities, so you really want to be sure before you buy!! ^^

Good tips for application!! But ya...I think I've pretty much given up on buying foundation online. Best to try it on in the store and for a few days (if a sample is available)!

How long did the studio tech last you [[like all the makeup overall]] if you use it daily??

Hmmm I'm not sure I can answer that question because I used to use it off and on. Once in a while I rediscover a foundation and then I love it and use it everyday for a few months, but then I find something else I'd neglected and switch to that LOL...I'm sorry I can't help you with your question! :(
