  • 5:38 Patrick Baum has a good reason to smile at the end. He puts up his best performance in years and beats the old European Championship champion Samsonov BIG time. Haha!♦

  • @tyoungos no doubt, he beat a World Champion

  • Baum really learned from the Chinese lately, it's definately visible in his serves, general moves, foot work and tactics. Great performance

  • @LookB3hindU yep he should be in the 11-20 range for sure, he is not a top 10 player anymore for quite a while now. But even a top 20 player should always beat pitchford. Baum is playing pretty decent lately so I understand that samsonov should be top level to beat him but still I think samsonov should be able to beat baum. We also shouldnt forget that samsonov is not training as much as he used to because of his new job at the ITTF, maybe it has something to do with his form.

  • This is just not the real Vladi, I hope he's not about to retire :-( As for Baum, yes he played well and improved, but he'll never be in the top 10.

  • @tshirttime84 I don't believe that. Samsonov is over rated. He has avoided a lot of the majors to keep his ranking in the top 10. Not to mention he hasn't played an ITTF event against the Chinese in a long time. He's just sandbagging it at the moment, but the more he plays the more his ranking and skill will drop to their proper level. I think Samsonov should be in the 11-20 range with some of them coming into the top 10 like Chen Qi or even Hao Shuai.

  • @Gakkedk He wasn't playing singles. I believe he still played team/doubles.

  • @tyoungos I doubt that had anything to do with it. More along the lines of hey I'm going to the Semi's.

  • I prefer 11:0 instead of my opponent gives a point by pity. Maze didn't play because he isn't still able to play such a long tournament.

  • good game baum !!! love you and support you forever !!

  • Wow nice match. Baum did good job against Samsonov.

I always like the way Samsonov wins a game 10-0 <3
