Just finished a book written by Hironari Matsuda, who in 1982 reached 7500m with his partner Sugawara but had to descend due to bad weather. Their transceiver broke, and because of that their teammates near Camp 2 thought they died and retreated to Japan. Matsuda was rescued 19 days later at CBC, but had to have his feet and fingers amputated. Sugawara died and his body was collected later (although another man died during this attempt). R.I.P
I must say this is much harder than claiming mount evenest , 60% people dead when trying

great route, but not quite a summiting of minya konka - that would be 7556m. great film all the same of a first ascent.
